In connection to the Madras Day celebrations, Ethiraj College has organized the Madras Memorabilia Exhibition at their college premises (library) in Ethiraj Salai, Chennai. This exhibition is open to public on Aug. 10 & 11, Wednesday & Thursday, 2016.
This exhibition has two sections. The room on the left contains models and photographs from Regional Rail Museum. They have displayed a few small (miniature) models of engines, coaches, tracks, railway stations, etc. This section also contains a few old photos showing various dignitaries visiting the ICF from many years ago. There is also a section with photographs and sketches of Anna Nagar area, as it was, at different periods of its growth.
The second section — room on the right — contains charts, drawings and miniature models of a few important landmark buildings of Chennai like the Madras Central Railway Station, Vivekananda House, LIC Building, Valluvar Kottam Theer, etc. Have a look at a few miniature landmark buildings of Chennai here –
It’s a wonderful effort by the students and staff of the college. If you are in Chennai, you can also visit this exhibition today or tomorrow (Aug. 11-12, 2016). Don’t miss 🙂
