This Sunday, September 4, 2016, you can open your Uber App to find ‘Uber Gives’ icon from 8 A.M. to 10 P.M. If you click on it and book a taxi, a #ChennaiGives volunteer will arrive on Uber taxi and collect any items in your house that you wish to donate to charity. Items you can donate include clothes, shoes, bed linen, books, DVDs, toys, crockery, etc.
If you don’t have Uber app on your mobile phone, you can download it from the Play Store.
This charity drive, on the occasion of The International Day of Charity, is being organized by Round Table India and Ladies Circle India Area 2 along with UBER, The Hindu, and Aircel.
The organizers have mentioned a list of beneficiaries – homes and schools, mostly. This is one of the biggest charity drives organized by the city for the city – don’t hesitate to participate and donate with all your heart, esp. since the organizers are not asking for money and someone will collect things right from your home!
