Volta Motors, a Chennai-based startup company, says that it will shortly (in a few months) introduce “Made in India” crossover electric bike that comes with 60 K.M. charge, removable battery, cellphone connectivity, disk brakes, a running cost of 7 paise per K.M, among other features.
Here is a quote from their press release –
“Volta ZAP offers a 60 km range for a single charge without pedaling. The regenerative charging gives an extended range for the user. Zap’s operating cost is around 7 paise per kilometre, which is more economical when compared with existing two-wheelers. The battery of Volta Zap weighs just 3 Kgs which will be the lightest battery for an E-bike till date with these specifications. Volta Motors uses an advanced lithium technology battery which can also be used as a power bank for charging mobile phones, laptops, tablets, etc… on the go. The Pedal assist feature helps the user to pedal the bike with an ease as it gives 3 full cycle wheel rotation for every single pedal rotation made.
A purpose-built box frame, first of its kind in India, allows you to quickly insert and remove the battery in and out comfortably which gives a piece of mind for people living in the urban areas. The suspension forks, powerful hub motors and digital displays gives a comfortable and pleasant ride for the users.
Integrated facilities for smart phones with customizable body panels and a wide range of colour choices makes the product even more attractive. Since there is no license and registration process involved, the product reduces unnecessary customer strains for transferring the product all over India. The LED reflectors placed on the bike makes it safer to ride during nights.”
